ok, so ive got an xbox 360 and i wanna get live. i am using a wireless internet connection in ma room( its a linksys wireless-g range explorer) i hooked the ethernet cable that came with the premium package to the back of my pc, and changed the network connections thing in the control panel so that it allows other network users to connect to the internet through my computer. @ssoon as i did this, i tried getting into xbox live and starting my silver membership account because i havnt bought the gold membership yet, and it worked fine (i could get on xbox live, but i didnt bother making the silver membership account cos i thought i'd wait till i got the gold)
anyway, the next day i try to get onto live again to use my 48 hour free subscription, so i hit "join xbox live" and summit comes up saying checking network status, and then a screen comes up sayin that an update is required from xbox live, so i hit "update now" and yet another screen comes up sayin "please wait while your system is being updated" and their is like a loading bar underneath it, only the bar never fills up, the screen just is replaced by summit that says update failed, please check your connection in system network setings.
sooooo, i check my connection and it says:
network adapter : fine
IP adress : fine
DNS : fine
MTU : fine
ICMP : fine
then it gets to the "xbox live" option on the list and its checking it and the same screen comes up sayin "an update is required for your xbox" so im thinking ....... hmmmm.... this looks familiar. so i hit update now and the exact same irritating "update failed check your connection" sign comes up.
any help would be greatly appreciated!
